Northallerton NHS Trust covers an area of lively market towns and beautiful Dales walking country, including Swaledale and Wensleydale and bordered by the North York Moors.

Around 120,000 people live in this area; around 2,500 live with diabetes day to day. Currently there are 50 families who have one or more children with diabetes. Dr Dieter Dammann is the paediatrician.

About 800 people attend diabetes care based at the Friarage Hospital or one of the consultant clinics around the area; Dr Roger Fisken is the physician coordinating these along with Dr Nicholas Quinn. The remainder access diabetes care at their local general practice surgery.

Diabetes UK Northallerton and District Voluntary Group hold their meetings at 8pm on the last Thursday in every month in the post graduate lecture room at the Friarage Hospital. All are welcome. For further information please contact Mrs Stella Kilvington on 01609 770340.
