The Diabetes National Workforce 'Skills for Health' guide, highlights the importance of both training programmes and qualifications, and the commissioning of education and training in rising to the challenges of effective care delivery, both now and in planning for future health care service and delivery. This feature identifies some of the educational opportunities in diabetes available to health care professionals in the United Kingdom.

Important Note : the list is not exhaustive and was largely compiled as a result of a request in a previous edition of Resumé for academic centres to contribute summaries of their courses. No courses suggested were excluded. Many centre / academic institutions listed also run individual diabetes study days.
